I haven't published here since December 2023. Not because I stopped writing, but because I needed to figure out what this place should be.
What happened
I spent too much time overthinking platforms, names, and niches. The more I wrote elsewhere, the more I realized I wasn't interested in becoming whatever algorithms want writers to be these days.
This quote from
, cofounder of 37signals, kept coming back to me:Write when you have something to say, not when you need to fill up space. Calling your writing "content" is at the root of the problem. Content takes up space, it doesn't have anything to do with communication.
He's right. And that's why I'm starting over.
What's changing
This publication is now called Progressible. A simple name change, but it represents something bigger.
I'm not going to focus on:
Finding a profitable niche
Optimizing for algorithms
Creating "content" on a rigid schedule
Pretending to have all the answers
Instead, I'll write when I have something to say about things like:
Technology's effect on our attention and wellbeing
Health and well-being experiments
ADHD insights
Mindful productivity (minus the hustle culture)
Midlife observations
Sometimes short. Sometimes long. Always direct and honest.
What to expect
No AI-generated posts. No life hacks promising 10x productivity. No hustle culture nonsense.
Just clear writing about real experiments, experiences, and questions. Sometimes messy. Sometimes unfinished. But always something I genuinely care about.
The theme is exploration and growth. It's about sharing a perspective on things you might care about too. Filtered through my experience, but aimed at ideas that matter beyond my story.
When I left patient care years ago, what I missed most were the deep connections with patients. Their stories. Their experiences. Talking about real human things.
That's what I want to recreate here. A place where I can explore what matters, try new things, and figure stuff out along the way. No pretending to have it all figured out. Just honest writing about the journey.
If you're looking for something real in a world of manufactured content, you might like it here.
Welcome to Progressible.
P.S. - That's what's been on my mind lately. What about you? What have you been thinking about these days?
